New Journal

Tue Aug 29, 2006, 12:19 PM

I've been imformed that I haven't updated this for a while. so I felt obliged to. I guess I do kinda miss talking pointlessly into this thing, to anyone who will listen. I spose you might want to know what been going on in my world. Well the long days of summer are all to quickly drawing in, and the summer holiday is nearly done. It's been a good holiday, getting drenched in wet Cumbria with my girlfriend, family holidays and some art work for my school work. Maybe some day I'll upload some of it on here see what you guys think, I would have earlier but I feel it looks out of place next to photos in the gallery. Other things that are going on, not a lot, manged to get into my 12 hour holiday sleeping pattern with only a week to go. Learning to drive, thats a lot of fun, sadly rather expensive fun.
Also a belated thankyou to my great girlfriend for buying me another years subscription to DA, she's obviously got too much money to spare! But thanks a lot all the same. Hope this journal is up to standard!
I usually end on a promise to get some more photos up here in the near future, so I guess I won't break tradition. Hopefully more will come just can never find the time or the places to shoot at the moment, maybe art is filling the hole. Have to wait and see! (as with most things in life)

Bye for now, Joe

It's been a While

Sun Jun 4, 2006, 7:19 AM

Its been a very long time since I've had some day trip to write about, in the past I've bored you with many, many words on the sumject of my outings so I won't bother this time, a few snippets might sneak their way in in the photo descriptions, apart from possibly, the rather random and disturbing anecdote about the boy and his dead pet rabbit, which was also kind of funny. The folk you m eet on your travels can be quite funny. In this case a small boy with a dragging a dead rabbit on a dog lead along the coast path, it came as a bit of a shock but I guess even the dead need a walk every now and again.

As for the photos, I'm reasonably happy with them, finally realised the limitations of my camera and stopped moaning about the slight flaws in picture quality. This moaning was cured when comparing a picture from the old camera and going "Shit thats bad!" but the photo I was looking at made it onto here aswell so I've stopped being so obbessed with picture quaility, specially as I dont have the best part of £1000 to by a digital SLR.

Anyways back the the day trip, to north Cornwall, two and a half hours away, is really not a day trip-able distance but that didn't phase my family. Which was a good thing because it turned out to be a very relaxing and enjoyable trip. The weather was perfect and got the sunburn to prove it. Got back late feeling very tired but relaxed at thew same time and tried not to worry about the eight hours work I had looming too early the next morning.

5000

Thu Mar 23, 2006, 8:40 AM

Woo 5000 pageviews, it's strange because its just sort of krept up on me, and I don't feel its such a big deal but you know, I felt obliged to make a little fuss over it. I know I keep saying it, but I do hope to get some new stuff up here soonish, just waiting for some nice weather and a free day to get out shooting. Other than that, I guess I should say thanks to all the people who've commented and supported me while I've been here, it's been great. Hopefuly I'll take a bit of time to catch up when I have that time, anyways, hope you're all doing all right because ui certainly am.

Have Fun

Joe :)

Times Flying

Sat Mar 4, 2006, 2:02 PM

The weeks seem to be passing so quickly now, and so much is changing in my life at the moment, I now have a job, schools the rocketing on, having done my Module Exams back in January the results are looming, I'm hoping for good news and think it will be, although theres always re-takes in the summer!

Still not finding much time for DA at the moment, and not finding time for a lot of thoer things besides that, and time is slipping by so quick. Too many things to think about over the next couple of years; in the summer, work experience, holidays with friends hopefully then it'll be applying for Uni which is totally terrifying but at the same time exciting with all the oportunites it will open.

Havent had the time to stop and take check of the situation, something I used to have lots of time for and realise not much was happening, but now lots of things have krept up an I feel I have no time anymore. Which is a good feeling but it seems DA and camera use have taken a fall, maybe its the season and the weather, opportunities havent presented themselve, or maybe I just can't see a good shot anymore. I'm sure more will come and I'll find time for DA again, but for the moment I'm enjoying the ride life is giving me at the moment.

Shit, it's my 17 birthday tomorrow, that means I have driving lessons to think about aswell, it too can go on the ever growing pile of things to get sorted. I spose it's been kewl being 16 though things are only starting to really take off now. The last few years have been great, made so many great friends and now is the time to start making the most of them because all too soon we'll all be moving away to Uni. Sounds kinda sad, but surely it can only mean more friends!

I can't help think this entry has been a bit rabbly and pointless to anyone but me, so it probably sounds awefully soppy. But I'm tired, listening to that sort of music and totally enjoying whats happening so can you blame me?

A New Year

Sun Jan 1, 2006, 12:17 PM

Happy New Year Everyone!

Hope you've all enjoyed Christmas or whatever you choose to call it.
It's been pretty cool for me just be chilling out more than anything. Though I should be working to prepare for the exams in a couple of weeks. :shakefist:

But with the New Year I seem to have that annoying habit of making changes to my life to make it in some way better. I don't get why it takes the passing of a year to make people think about it. Change doesnt just have to happen at the start of the year. That said I've made a few resolutions and hopefully 2006 will top 2005.

Firstly I think I need to start taking photos again and finding time to hang out here I guess the madness of school has filled the time I'd usually be spending round here but I think most things have settled down now.

I said firstly but I can't think of anything else so there will only be a first today ;). So life seems to be going good and I hope yus all are ok out there in DA land.

Have fun :)
Joe
